All but one song on this record (Oblivion) are from 2014. "Oblivion", meanwhile, is from 2016-17. Despite the drastic contrasts between these two periods (romance and career) Oblivion found a way to permeate both, but only once as a song.
"New Golden Hour" started as "The Golden Hour"; a free download issued with proof of purchase of "Experiments In Time", then it became apart of a new edition called "Experiments In Time:The Golden Hour".
This newer version of EIT featured a photo of a sign which reads "NOTHING". This sign is in a place called "Nothing, Arizona".
Though the artist lived in Washington State with his former wife at the time;
two years later he would be driving down the road to Tucson, Arizona with his new girlfriend past the very same sign in the photo.
"Oblivion" was written in Portland before the grueling drive to the Fortuna Motel in Tucson, Arizona and was intended to be the first song in what would become the "TURN,CIRCLE, SUN & MOON" collection, but it didn't make the cut.
The artist later thought it should be released as a new addition to the golden hour songs due to "emotional similarities that bridge the gaps of Time measured in numerical forms...".
